Web version of WhatsApp gets built-in sticker maker feature | Oman time

Washington (USA): Popular messaging app WhatsApp has introduced a new tool allowing users to create their own personalized stickers.

According to The Verge, the web version of WhatsApp has been updated with a built-in custom sticker creator, which allows users to turn ordinary images from their computer into stickers that can be sent through the messaging service. Apart from the web version of WhatsApp, the feature will also be available in its desktop apps next week.

To access this new feature, click the paper clip (attachments) icon, select Sticker, then choose an image to upload. Once uploaded, images can be edited to turn them into the perfect sticker.

An outline can be drawn around the subject of an image to cut out the background, and images can also be cropped (although still in a square aspect ratio). Additional WhatsApp emoji, text and stickers can also be overlaid on your sticker designs.

Being able to create your own stickers on WhatsApp isn’t new, and there are a whole range of third-party apps available on iOS and Android dedicated to the task. But it’s a handy feature to integrate directly into the desktop and web versions of the service, especially since they allow you to edit images with the precision of a mouse pointer.
